Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Kinsale Co Cork

Early arrival at Shannon/ Dublin Airport where you will receive a warm welcome from your Dingle Slea Head Tours driver. On route to your first destination, Kinsale, in South-west Cork, we can stop for some light refreshments before arriving in Kinsale to check into your accommodation.

After a short rest, your Dingle Slea Head Tours driver-guide will take you on a tour of Kinsale, taking in its many attractions such as Kinsale’s Charles Fort with its spectacular views overlooking Kinsale town. After your first day, you can relax and enjoy dinner at one of Kinsale’s outstanding restaurants before having a good rest to be ready for a tour packed with highlights.

Day 2: Tour of Cobh/ Midleton Distillery/ Blarney Castle

After a full Irish breakfast, your driver will take you from Kinsale to enjoy a day tour of East Cork. Our first visit will be to Cobh, formerly known as Queenstown (1850 until 1920) and from where most Irish emigrants departed for America and elsewhere in the world.

Cobh’s attractions focus on the immense maritime and emigration legacy of the town – the Queenstown Story Heritage Centre, the Titanic Experience, the Titanic Trail walking tour, and Cobh Museum are all well worth visiting.

Having enjoyed the beautiful town  of Cobh we then drive to The Old Midleton Distillery, home of the world-famous Jameson Irish Whiskey. Your driver will organise a private tour or public tour for you at the distillery. Nest stop is Blarney Castle & Wooleen Mills. They also have great lunch options available here. Your driver will then take you back to Kinsale for dinner and an overnight stay. Kinsale is packed with bars filled with Irish traditional music, so don’t worry, if you need a slightly later start, we can sort that out too.

Day 3: Day Tour of Killarney

After enjoying your morning breakfast, you will check out and journey westwards towards the beautiful town of Killarney. This is a scenic drive so sit back and relax as your driver takes you past ruined abbeys heading over the mountain pass towards the colorful town of Kenmare and onto Molls gap through Killarney National Park. Ladies View is one of the highlights overlooking The lakes of Killarney. You will also visit Torc Waterfall, Muckross House & Gardens & Ross Castle. Overnight in Killarney x 2 nights.

Day 4: Ring of Kerry

Today might be called ‘scenery day as the Tour will bring you on the stunning drive around the Ring of Kerry. One of the key areas in the Wild Atlantic Way driving route, the Ring of Kerry will keep your camera finger busy!

Around every bend, a new vista of Kerry opens up and takes your breath away. The scenery, the islands, inlets, historic monuments, beaches, mountain passes, and interesting characters which combine to make this an unforgettable day. Tonight we head back to Killarney to explore some of the food, drink and nightlife of this picturesque town.

Day 5: Dingle Peninsula

Once cited as ‘the most beautiful place on earth‘ by the National Geographic; voted among the top 100 destinations in the world by Trip Advisor; recently recommended by CNN as a very favorable winter destination; listed as one of the top 10 places to be on New Year’s Eve, the Dingle Peninsula is a little slice of heaven on earth.

One cannot visit Ireland without visiting the Dingle Peninsula. Today’s tour leaves your Killarney hotel to take you to the Dingle Peninsula. On route, we will stop at the 3-mile sandy beach of Inch – a playground for swimmers, surfers, beach anglers, and walkers.

Dingle/ Daingean Uí Chúis (fort of Ó Cúis). Dingle is the capital of the Kerry Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area) where students come to learn and improve their Irish. In Dingle, you will experience great pubs, shops, and seafood restaurants.  After a bite to eat you will be taken around the world-famous Slea Head Drive . Along the Slea Head Drive, you will experience some breath-taking views of Ventry Harbour, the Blasket Islands, and west Kerry’s rugged coastline. You will also visit some Pre-historic Forts and Beehive Huts dating back to the Iron Age (800BC – AD400). After your amazing day touring the Dingle Peninsula you can relax with Dinner at one of Dingle’s wonderful restaurants before exploring the town’s pub life and taste the beauty of Irish traditional music.

Day 6: Cliffs of Moher & Burren

Depart from your accommodation in Dingle at 8.30 am we will cross the river Shannon via car ferry heading north along the west coast of Clare to Irelands most visited outdoor attraction The Cliffs of Moher. They Cliffs are 700ft above sea level and the views are to be treasured. Next stop is the village of Doolin for lunch in a local pub and maybe even a pint of Guinness! From Doolin we will drive along the Burren coastline. The vast, moon-like Burren in County Clare is one of Ireland’s most compelling landscapes.
